Dr Umesh Maheswari

Founder of the Fruitful India Fund

Dr Umesh Maheshwari is a computer technologist and entrepreneur. He was the founding CTO of Nimble Storage, a pioneer in data storage systems based on flash memory. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BTech in Computer Science from IIT Delhi, where he was awarded the President of India Gold Medal for achieving the highest grades in the graduating class.

Dr Maheshwari is passionate about promoting the widespread cultivation of fruit trees. He believes that fruit trees offer a rare opportunity to provide healthy nutrition for low-income families and, at the same time, improve environmental health and address climate change. With this goal in mind, he founded the Fruitful India Fund in 2017.
